Beefcake searches always leave me
wanting, especially at Christmas time. Could
it be that only gay men consume
beefcake?
Last year I
nominated the
top 10 Christmas neo pinups. I thought
I’d see what beefcake had to offer in that
category. It’s a short list this year. As
always, a search for beefcake is much
tougher, as they seem to be scarce (in
relation to their female counter part).
Always leaving me asking that age old
question: Where’s the beef?!
I’ll start off with this excruciating Shawn
Connery, to the left. I don’t know what the
hell the man was thinking, but there you have
it. I know this isn’t a Christmas themed
beefcake, per se, but he’s so festive in that
red fetish get-up... Just look at him as my
Christmas gift to you.
The Pinup Blog is
just rackin’em in! I’ve been bestowed
upon the great honor of the Lemonade
Award. Tagged by the gracious Cliterature,
I decided to continue this fabulous little
meme. The rules are simple enough:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post. (I
added a suggestion logo *
next to the original, to give it a bit of a
pinup boost )
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show
great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within
your post
4. Let them know that they have received this
award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and
to the person from whom you received your
award.
So here are The Pinup Blog’s favorite pinup
and retro blogs:
The Pinup Blog has been awarded The
Butterfly Award, by Bobbie Dawn!
Denina Simmons, author of the blog says
The Pinup Blog is the coolest blog she
knows, which is very flattering.
Her Blog, Bobbie Dawn, is
her personal diary and is illustrated with
tons of pinup art, so go have a look!

This artfully done
neo pinup is the work of Barbara Jensen.
Jensen has really perfected her
airbrushing craft and is offering it in
her erotic art Cafepress shop,
Arteest. It’s a real gem, with
beautifully idealized women, looking fine and
having fun.

“God approves of nudity. Adam and Eve in
the Garden of Eden, they were naked as
jaybirds.” ~ Betty (Bettie) Mea Page (April
22, 1923 – December 11,
2008)~
Many articles have sprouted about Bettie page
in the past couple of days. The details of
her death and turmoiled life are all over the
net. Most articles don’t elaborate on the
standard Wikipidia
article. I’d like to do something a
little different, to contribute to the
flood of eulogious articles and take a
look at this fascinating 1950’s sexual
icon.
Articles (such as
this) started popping up, last week,
about Bettie Page being in critical
condition. For a week I scoured the internet,
trying to understand hat was really going on.
I’m sad to report that on December
11th, queen pinup, Bettie Page has
passed. She will be missed.
Her acting agent, Mark Roesler, has created a
memorial
page in her honor. It’s a beautiful
way to pay last respects.

The sweety to the
left is just one of Bay Area
Pinups’ satisfied customers. Bay Area
Pinups is the brain-child of Kelly Hasiao.
It’s a pinup and boudoir studio located in
San Jose, California that specializes in
1940's-1950's pinup photo shoots, as well
as classic boudoir photography. If you’re
not a California resident, I still
recommending stealing a peak at the site,
where you can find gorgeous (and diverse!)
neo pinup girls, like this one.
From Jackie O to Michelle Obama, first
ladies are stylish, formidable women. Here’s
a look at stylish first ladies - pinups in
the white house.
First Ladies are usually
not regarded by their sexuality as their job
is of real substance. Most of them weren’t
beautiful, or fashionable (a fact that would
change with the coming of the television into
every American home). But some were, And
others had fantastic photographic moments.
Martha Washington - The First
Lady
Wife of George
Washington, Martha Washington was the
first First Lady. She was the first to
define the job and make it a meaningful
one. We may be used to the white-haired
matronly image of Mrs. Washington, but
this painting reveals a graceful and
proud woman with her best frocks on.
Defiantly a formidable role- model for
First Ladies to come.
Precisely titled,
Gorgeous
Black Women is a fantastic site
dedicated to... well... gorgeous black
women! Filled with photographs from
different eras, relevant links and tons
of polls,
Gorgeous Black Woman is a must-see blog for
anyone who appreciates the diversity of
beauty. I’d like to note the respect in which
these women are featured. With very little
words, Gorgeous Black Woman is as much about
pride as it is about beauty.

Isn’t she lovely?
Isn’t she precious?!
There are plenty more wonderful GOP
pin-up satire at Internet Weekly, an
online satire magazine. The e-zine,
however, is much more elaborate than just
these GOP pinups- definitly worth a click,
for all you politicos.

From Marilyn Monroe to Christina
Aguilera, The music world has brought out
some of the biggest pop pinup icons.
More
than any other industry, the music industry
is known for some outrageous costuming. It
isn’t customary for a woman, today, to dress
up as a 1950’s calender pinup, but pop stars
all over want to. I say let’em and see what a
beautiful world this could be !
Marilyn Monroe - The
Icon
Marilyn Monroe was mainly a movie star, but
we all remember her for her delightful
singing voice, as well. What she wore, in her
time, was really typical glamor wear, but
this woman set trends that would be copied
decades later. I think this proves it’s not
the dress that makes the woman, but the woman
who makes the dress. Back in the 1950’s and
today women everywhere want to copy the look,
and some of them are the biggest pop starlets
around.
