saying. A beautiful and vast collection of
illustration from yesteryear. It’s not all
pinups, but even a painting of a couple
has at least one woman in it. Online since 1998 American

Almost two years ago (!)
I analyzed Gil Elvgren’s The Bear Facts.
It was a fascinating learning process and
I’ve always wanted to do more of it. So
without further ado, here’s another one of my
favorites: Greg Hildebrandt’s Hotel

Greg Hildebrandt’s Hotel
Nights is not a standard, classic pinup,
for reasons that I will highlight later.
Mainly, we’re talking about a neo pinup,
completed in 1999- the turn of a
century, with many interesting sources
of inspiration that aren’t necessarily
taken from the language of painting.
Chrom Juwelen is
a German motor culture site and as we all
know, where there’s hot rods there’s hot
cheesecake. In their section, Pinup Post,
devoted solely to pinups, you’ll find
gorgeous neo-pinup photography and a
little modern illustration, accompanied by
English captions, for your convenience. A
fine collection from all over the web,

web of pinupology. Watch the evolution as it

The pinup girl
evolution isn't, a linear one. Like most
genres of art, each school would
interpret it differently, geography
would change the aesthetics, and post
modernism- and much more recently- the
pluralism of the internet would implode
any possibility of linearism. My goal
then, in this article, is not to create
a time line, but to follow the
evolutionary branching out of the rare
and beautiful species-The pinup.
Style’n’Fix
is a small yet stylin’ online shop that
caters to the breast adorning crowd. If
you feel your tits deserve the best (and
you often don’t sport a top), it’s a small
and beautiful collection of practical and
pretty pasties. Burlesque dancers may be
slightly disappointed that there’s nothing

Pinups have been named as such, for their
function rather than their content. Today,
however, I think it’s safe to say that pinup
is more than something you… well... pin up.
It’s fashion statement, it’s an aesthetic,

Above, you can view the damn fine work of
Mike James. A multi
faceted artist, James does photography and
drawings, as well. His sculptures are an
idealized blend of cute and muscular.

Palestinian women come in all shapes,
colors and sizes, with different beliefs,
different religions and different ways of
life. This isn’t a well known fact, yet. In
this article I’d like to look at the beauty
from within as well as from without.
I can’t ignore the fact that I’m Israeli and
pro-Palestinian and the reactions this
article may bring my way (or just this
sentence). Nevertheless, it’s
important to me to create a bridge, where
walls are being biult- around Palestinians
and Arabs and Muslims in general. Most
important to me, is to show off, to people of
the West, the beauty and individuality of
each woman I feature. You can’t group
Palestinians into crude stereotypes, as you
can’t group any other group of people. If you
do it, you miss out on the beautiful
diversity of the world.
