#134 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Sugar Cut

<< Last Farrah Fawcett - The Woman Behind the Pinup

Coming up: Find out Sunday! Next >>

From vintage erotica to contemporary, Sugar Cut (newest on the sidebar) has a bit of everything. Focusing on the pinups, it’s interesting to note that most of Sugar Cut’s images- even though taken from different collections- have very similar compositions. For cheeky fun and a bit of fetish, head on to Sugar Cut.

Farrah Fawcett - The Woman Behind the Pinup

“She was smart. That was a trick that she tried to keep from people.” ~Ryan O’neal

Farrah Fawcett dies at the way too early age of 62. A woman who would present herself simpler than she really was, and was profoundly human. There was a real person behind those pearly whites, and I’d like to take you behind the pinup.

#133 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: SvarTTrasT's Gay Pinups

SvarTTrasT is a fantastic Icelandic photographer, that I stumbled across on Flickr. He creates a lot of impressive imagery, but I’m focusing on his marvelous effeminate beefcake. I don’t know what I like more about this image; The fact that it’s so well done, the humor, the GLBT twist, or more proof that all men have fine long legs and they should be the ones wearing short skirts.

#132 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Bruno Beefcake

The king of satire knows all about sexy kitsch and takes beefcake back to it’s roots. With the character of Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen gives male sexuality something it hasn’t seen for years- fun! Check out those thighs and Sponge Bob overalls... rawwwwr! Winking

Father’s Day Special - The Lolita Fetish

Father’s day is coming up and in that context, it’s a great time to talk about that ever-so-taboo fetish: Lolita.

Nabokov wasn’t really talking about pedophilia, but the shock value seems to overshadow the existential value of the novel, Lolita. The cultural significance is found between the pages of the dictionary:

“Main Entry: Lo·li·ta
Pronunciation: \lō-ˈlē-tə\
Function: noun
Etymology: from Lolita, character in the novel Lolita (1955) by Vladimir Nabokov
Date: 1959
: a precociously seductive girl”

And also found on celluloid (as seen above). Most people find it disconcerting that grown men may feel attracted to young ladies. Or that grown women act like little girls, in order to attract grown men. As a result, culture has given rise to some interesting phenomena.
